Delicious food experiences in Tokyo

These are some of my favorite food experiences that I will definitely repeat whenever I’m back in Tokyo..

CORNET

One thing I learned in Tokyo is that Japanese chefs are custard wizards. They have all kind of pâtissières with custard fillings and nearly all are ah-mazing. One of my favorites were these cornets from SUSUCRIER in the above picture.

Baumkuchen

This is a German cake but it is a very popular snack in Japan. The cake is unique and yummy. It is crispy from the outside and soft from the inside. One well-known bakery that sells good Baumkuchen is Nenrinya. It is famous for showing the spinning pastry on its windows.

FLUFFY PANCAKES

This needs no introduction. These popular pancakes made it internationally. But in my opinion, not everyone makes them the same. One good spot that serves the fluffy Japanese pancakes is the HANDS EXPO CAFE. A lot of people love the popular Bill’s fluffy pancakes but it is too creamy for my taste.

PIZZA from The Pizza Bar on 38th

Cuisines in Tokyo are international and some restaurants offer better cooking than what you will find in its country of origin. This applies on the pictured superb pizza I had at the Pizza Bar on 38th. It is a small restaurant that offers pizza right from the oven to the bar counter. Note: There are no tables. Very limited seats on the bar & it requires a reservation!

The Apollo

This was one my best dining experiences in Tokyo that I actually went again. The Apollo is an Australian restaurant serving Greek-inspired dishes with a twist. Try the hummus-like dish pictured above *drools*.

Michelin starred restaurants

last but not least, Tokyo holds the world record of 230 Michelin-starred restaurants in one city beating even Paris. So if you have always wanted to try one of those, you are in the right city! Here is an easy to navigate guide [Click Here].
