Although all Far East countries share common traits, each place is unique in someway and caters to different traveling style. We were fortunate to visit majority of popular Far East destinations and we are here to share our thoughts on what is unique in each country to help you decide where to visit!
Japan
Japan and specially Tokyo is for the classy and upscale loving kind of people. It is really quite and organized to the slightest detail. It combines the eastern and western vibes in absolute harmony. The food in Tokyo is diverse and excellent. They are exposed to different cultures and all food sellers from fine dining restaurants to street trucks respect any limitations you might have and do their best to clarify ingredients despite language barriers.
Indonesia
If you love nature and outdoor activities or you would rather spend your vacation in beach resorts than concrete jungles then Bali in Indonesia is the choice for you! It is perfect for young people or group travels. The island is known as cheap destination offering great activities, hotels and food at great prices. But it is also kind of dirty so if that is a problem then you always have to opt for upscale options even if it’s more expensive than Bali’s average price.
China
China is huge and each region is kind of different. We visited Bejing and we can say that it is a country for explorers and people who are comfortable in lively atmospheres. The food is really tasty and the vibes are . It is also an obvious destination for people after budget merchandise and diverse Chinese markets. You will face difficulties in communication and the market sellers can be deceptive so you must always bargain.
Hong Kong
Hong Kong is an independent region and different from China. It feels like a piece of America placed in Asia. It very diverse and urban. Quite crowded with people from all over the world. It has a touristic vibe because of Disney Land and other attractions.
South Korea
Korea is for people who love shopping and relaxing. They have great shopping outlets and unique designs. One well known shopping district in Seoul is open 24/7 and offers great quality at competitive prices. The coffee there is beyond great and some cafes are open till midnight. One downside though is availability of food that caters to arabs/muslims requirements or taste in general. But we heard that it is improving and a lot of international cuisines are opening in Seoul.
Malaysia
We have been to Malaysia long time ago so I don’t wish to give a false review. However, the country is generally suitable for families and has stunning nature. It is very fitting for Muslims in terms of food and culture.
Singapore
If you love civilization and wish to see East Asia without the language barriers then Singapore is your destination. The majority speak English and the city is evolving by the minute. It is not very friendly for children as there isn’t much attractions.
